The transition to adulthood can be a challenging experience for anyone, regardless of personal background, socioeconomic status, gender, identity or race. It is certainly more challenging for youth who do not have the economic, familial or social supports that can assist them to overcome the many challenges on their journey to self-sufficiency and independence.  Be That Person is a non-profit organization that aims to provide a safety net and support network for transition age youth.

Our program complements formal education and serves as a bridge to real life experiences. We believe that once students are equipped with the tools necessary to make informed decisions about their lives and futures that they will become productive and contributing members of society.

By removing some financial barriers, scholarships make education and life goals easier for students to obtain. Upon successful completion of the program, BTP participants will be provided with a scholarship to assist with their transition.

Community Service With Be That Person

We at Be That Person Inc. believe that engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service or volunteerism enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most. This is why we require all participants of the program to fulfill one act of community service facilitated by the board.

The Giveback

Every year, as we watch our children’s faces light up as they blow out the candles on their birthday cake, we know they will remember that moment forever and look forward to next year with the same anticipation and excitement. Having a birthday celebration, blowing out candles on a cake and opening a gift, seems very routine to many of us, but sadly, there are many children who never experience that joy. Be That Person Inc. gives struggling families an opportunity to give a birthday party to their child that would not otherwise be possible.

This program is a great way to teach our children about those less fortunate who live right in their own community.

BTP’s “theGiveback” provides paperie, a birthday cake, decorations, and small gifts for children age range 1-12. The items will be delivered to a location provided by the family.
